Dr. Grewal received her dental degree at the University of California, San Francisco, and her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston. She served as full-time faculty and then as Associate Director of the Pediatric Dentistry Program at the NYU-Lutheran site in Massachusetts. She then moved to Michigan and taught as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
Dr. Grewal is a board-certified pediatric dentist with extensive experience in providing care for pediatric patients in a clinical and hospital setting. She has also served as the director of Pediatric Dentistry Special Needs Service at Mott Children’s Hospital, Ann Arbor. Her clinical research interests focused on improvement in dental experiences of children with autism through various behavioral approaches including virtual reality. She has presented papers at various national and international conferences and worked with community partners to enhance oral health education.
In her spare time, Dr. Grewal enjoys cooking, yoga, and being a mom to her beautiful daughter. She is an avid Harry Potter and Unicorn fan and enjoys humming Disney tunes.
Dr. Samita Gumber (Dr. Sam to her patients) is a board-certified pediatric dentist who comes from a diverse background. Dr. Gumber was born and brought up in India, where she completed dental school and graduated with a master’s degree in pediatric dentistry. She moved to the United States in 2016 and completed her second master’s degree in pediatric dentistry at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with her research on children with autism spectrum disorder.
Dr. Gumber firmly believes in giving back to the community and has participated in multiple community dental health programs in India and the United States. She is also an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and enjoys teaching undergraduate students and pediatric dentistry residents.
In her spare time, Dr. Gumber enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and playing badminton. She is a huge Bhangra (Punjabi Folk dance) and Bollywood fan and loves to dance on Punjabi and Bollywood numbers.
Dr. Gumber is an active member of the AAPD, MAPD, ODA, and RCDSO.
Dr. Rayyan Jaber - a Michigan native - graduated from University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She spent a lot of her time volunteering at hospitals and schools, and grew to love working with children. After graduating dental school she worked mainly with pediatric patients as a general dentist, prior to beginning her speciality training in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Rayyan completed her Pediatric Dentistry Residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, where she was given the opportunity to care for and provide treatment for children of all ages and of all medical backgrounds using both basic and advanced behavior guidance techniques. Dr. Rayyan’s goal is to make each patient’s experience a positive one and to help parents and children grow to develop positive oral habits with lifelong impacts. She hopes to create a fun, safe and comfortable environment for our children, where she and her team are able to successfully and efficiently achieve and maintain oral care.
Dr. Rayyan is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Michigan Dental Association. When she is not having fun with our kiddos and fighting "sugar bugs”, she is hanging out with her friends and family, among them many nieces and nephews. Dr. Rayyan loves to travel, go out to eat, shop, read, and do pilates.
